Oh....my....goodness.  My brain hurts.  Things have been nuts lately.  I had a shoot about two weeks ago.  It came out great, and i learned a lot. I learned, primarily, how to work with a team.  I was working with an MUA/hair stylist, an assistant, a professional model, and a lighting director (of sortes).  I was even working in a real studio!  (Of which I now rent full-time every month.  I have three more shoots set up for the next two weeks.  One on the 26th of May, memorial day, and then on the 2nd of June.  They should prove to be absolutely gorgeous!

I am finally settled in back home.  It has taken a while, but I am finally on a schedule of how my life is supposed to work, living with my parents again.  I.E......I need to get out of here and find my own place.  Don't get me wrong!  I love the 'rents!!  We get along great......I just need my space again.  It's natural, right?  Right.

Anyways.....leave the love.  I'll keep you updated!!

Right, so I am officially back in Virginia.  I will only  be here for a couple of months, though.  Just long enough to do some kick ass photography and head to another school.

Basically our trip went......Santa Barbara, CA....Fountain Hills, AZ.......El Paso, Tx......Muleshoe, Tx (where my family grew up),  Denton, Tx.........Memphis, TN..... Knoxville, TN.......and home.  All in all, it took us seven days.  We took a lot of photos along the way.  (I probably should have taken more.....but we never would have gotten home!!)  I am going into the darkroom for the first time in years this Sunday, so I should have some developed for you.  Memphis was, by far, one of the best stops along the way.  We went to Beale Street (my relatives live in Germantown, so I have been to Beale before) and just our luck, there was a Zydeco festival going on.  I think it was in honor of Mardi Gras.  If you guys have never checked out Zydeco, then you need to.  Google it.

I got some great posters there.  And Maisee and Dole....there are suevineres (I can never spell that word) coming your way.

Muleshoe also kicked some ass (no pun intended).  This is a city of 4000 where my parents grew up.  Most of the town is now shut down, so I got a lot of pictures of how the city has changed for my parents.  They are pretty excited to see them.  I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Anyways, I guess that is the update for the time being.  Great to be home Manassas!!!  (I don't think anyone can ever get me to say that again...)

Got a really cool idea.  Like I said in my last journal, I am about to spend seven days traveling across the country with my best friend.  There should be a lot of opportunities for photographs.  I was reading a second ago, about a lady who makes cyanograph quilts.  I think it looks like a lot of fun.  So...I think I am going to start collecting things in bags and labeling the cities that they are from.  Then, when I get to Manassas, I will start developing cyanotype quilt pieces on fabric (good, quilting fabric obviously). Then, I will label each piece with the city the objects came from.  It will be my traveling quilt!!

Art and craftsy...i know.  But it will be something to keep and maybe even hand down.  Plus...it will just be really cool to own if it works out.  Here is the link wher I got the idea.  It actually gives the step by step process for making the quilt.  C'mon....you know you want to....

No...seriously....that is what I am doing.  I am leaving in about eight days to Manassas, VA....HOME SWEET HOME!!!  Yes ladies and gentlemen who don't read this journal....I am a Manasshole.  :)

I am excited to move back, actually.  I have a lot of ideas...a lot of models to work with....a great space to work in....and some new techniques learned.  Some of them were experimented with in the previous submissions.  I used some new lighting and PS techniques.  Fun times!!

Anyways, Conor and I are taking a cross country trip.  (Once in a lifetime (or twice in my case) opportunity!!!!!)  We are going from Santa Barbara, CA to Arizona to Texas to Louisiana to Tennessee to VA.  SSSSOOOOOOO excited!!  We are stopping off in Muleshoe, Tx...population 4500 (no seriously!!).  It is where my parents grew up.  The town, from what I understand, is slowly dying.  So, I want to go and take some photos while everything is still standing.  I am stoked!!  When we go to Louisiana, we are stopping for a couple of hours for Mardi Gras.  We are  not staying long...just enough to experience a little of it. It will be interesting to see Louisiana, anyways.

I can't wait!!  eight days and counting!!
